Hi, I'm Ben!

I'm a freelance photographer based in Austin, Texas, but travel frequently for commissioned assignments. You'll rarely see me without a camera shooting my interests.

I spent my early years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but grew up in Austin and graduated from the University of Texas. The generations of revered artists and musicians in my family have influenced the creative outlook I bring to my photography. I'm easy to work with and offer unique solutions to clients' diverse needs. Always looking for my next best image, I approach each project with a genuine, unprejudiced excitement.

My photography has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, Photographer of the Year International and the Gran Prix de Photographie Paris. I was honored to be nominated for the Pulitzer Prize after photographing Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

I'm available for editorial and commercial commissions as well as conversations over coffee or beer.
