Meeting new people everyday and documenting the history of the world with photography is Ben’s life passion.

Benjamin Sklar is an award winning photojournalist represented by Chiron Photos. His images have appeared in such publications as National Geographic Magazine, Newsweek, and Time Magazine. Photographer of the Year International, Society of Professional Journalists and the Hearst Journalism Awards Program has recognized his work. Ben’s coverage of Hurricane Katrina hitting Mississippi in 2005 served as a pivotal event in his career and life.

He earned a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2006. His clients include The New York Times, Getty Images, The Austin American-Statesman, and The Dallas Morning News.

Ben is a freelance photographer based in Austin, Texas ready to work anywhere. He speaks Spanish, enjoys cooking and specializes in editorial, documentary photography and portraiture.
